How TikTok Shop fees work
TikTok Shop charges a referral fee, which is its version of a marketplace commission. TikTok's formula applies it to the customer payment plus any platform discount, minus tax. TikTok doesn't say whether buyer-paid shipping counts as part of the customer payment, so this calculator includes shipping, which gives the higher estimate. TikTok's own Seller University rate card, checked on this page's verified date, lists 6% for most categories and 5% for select jewelry and most pre-owned items. Several seller blogs report that the standard US rate rose to 8% on August 4, 2026. TikTok's public rate card doesn't show that change, so we can't confirm it. The calculator uses TikTok's published rates by default and offers the reported 8% as a separate option. Your exact rate is shown in Seller Center, so confirm it there before pricing a listing.
